Visual design is used at some point in all businesses. Many of the companies on Fast Company’s 2012 50 Most Innovative Companies have set themselves above others for reasons including the success of their visual design. Not a bad place to start when seeking a career in visual communication.

Free climbing a mountain can be an extremely rewarding and satisfying experience. As we have all seen on TV the journey to the top is not a mindless task. A climber must stay focused in all conditions, with little or no sleep. They have to endure any pain that is thrown at them and always remember that at anytime they could fall to certain death. Learning from their mistakes, a climber will grow their skills and achieve their goals.
Going through the VCD program at Kent State can be a similar experience. Like climbers if you have the right mentoring and resources you will not only reach your goals but go far beyond them. VCD Roughs is that guide for your adventure from young blood to passionate visual communicator.
